Deconstructing 2.0
Time magazine has made “you” the “person of the year because “we” are now in control of the media — a “link bait” ploy that deconstructs itself because “we” did not choose to put “us” on the cover of Time. Doh! How do I emblazon “SILLY HYPE” on “my” cover of Time? (Hat tip to Donna Bogatin and Darren Rowse for actually thinking instead of hyping.)

or maybe a cigar is just a cigar and the rise of UGC is something to be applauded…
[…] Actualización : De todo lo leÃdo, me quedo con esta frase de Scott Karp en Publishing 2.0 Time magazine has made “you†the “person of the year because “we†are now in control of the media — a “link bait†ploy that deconstructs itself because “we†did not choose to put “us†on the cover of Time. […]
Ah, but it’s perfectly recursive - what could be a better example of noting the power of playing to crowd, then (blatantly but unironically) playing to the crowd?
I call it the official kick-off of bubble 2.0.
Kontrol Gercekten Bizde Mi? Time dergisi soyle diyor: “Medya’yi siz kontrol ediyorsunuz, ve dunya bir daha hic ayni olmayacak.†Gercekten kontrol bizde olsaydi Time’in bizi secmesine biz karar vermis olmaz miydik? Ironik, oyle degil mi? Sahsen, bu secimi ben cogunlukla bir reklam yaklasimi, bir “yeni nesil web ve medya treni hizla gidiyor ben de vagona atlayayim ve tarihte yerimi alayim†yaklasimi, ve belki de bir

of half a dozen anonymous Time readers that are briefly at the top of an single over-hyped Time cover article, but the 230 million flickr photos that and 1.3 million daily blog posts that are seen by the people who actually care about them. Scott Karp calls it “a ‘link bait’ ploy that deconstructs itself because ‘we’ did not choose to put ‘us’ on the cover of Time.” But we did choose to put the cover of Time on our blogs. Jeff Jarvis simply points out that
(personally I love the font choices – go see what I mean). Terry Starbucker has a new dog – kind of. He’s taking role playing to a whole new level! Time Magazine has named the person of the year – you’ll never guess who it is and what people are saying about it.
great man, but citizen to citizen, person to person. It’s a chance for people to look at a computer screen and really, genuinely wonder who’s out there looking back at them. Go on. Tell us you’re not just a little bit curious. Update: Noah Brier just pointed me to this. I think it’s funny - but a bit snarky. As I said to Noah - It’s a fair point but it was nice of them to tip the hat. The fact that it’s link baiting is no big deal, Colbert does it every other day.

But that’s what makes all this interesting. Web 2.0 is a massive social experiment, and like any experiment worth trying, it could fail. … Also posted at Blogbharti. Update: Some call it link baiting by the Time Magazine. YOU Decide.
the comments on YouTube make you weep for the future of humanity just for the spelling alone, never mind the obscenity and the naked hatred … I know I should be aggregating blogs from India but would you blame me for this one?
