Five Things You Probably Don’t Know About Me
Brian Clark is indeed an effective copywriter as he knew just how to hook me into participating in this “chain blog” of “five things you didn’t know” about me:
1. For five years after college I wrote fiction and payed the bills by teaching test prep courses until I discovered that I wasn’t very good at fiction writing — I’m a bit of a slow learner. But I can get a perfect score on the LSAT even though I never for a moment considered going to law school.
2. I nearly broke my neck falling down a flight of stairs last year — I did manage to break my both my 5th metatarsal and my lateral malleolus — something my orthopedist said was nearly impossible to do.
3. The highlight of my sporting career was playing on the little league all-star team in 5th grade — my hand-eye coordination has steadily declined since then.
4. If I had any musical talent I would have been a guitar player. I do play the guitar but badly. (It’s that coordination thing again.)
5. People I’ve never met often tell me that I look like someone they know.
Now I’m supposed to peer pressure five other people into participating: Mathew Ingram, Rex Hammock, Max Kalehoff, Stowe Boyd, Noah Brier

Ah, you’re a good sport Scott.
Me too, and it drives me insane.
I think this must mean something in a “six degrees of separation” kind of way, but I’ve already been tagged by the Five Things virus… er, meme — and wrote my entry here on Thursday.
And for what it’s worth, Scott, you don’t look like anyone I know
I already did it! http://www.stoweboyd.com/message/2006/12/tag_im_it.html.
in particular, what if I just left it open for anyone who feels like commenting to add their five things (or a link to their site that lists them). It couldn’t hurt for us all to get to know each other a little better. Update (12/18/06): It seems that Scott has tagged me too. I’m starting to feel slightly guilty for not passing this on . . .
Just curious. Were you pushed? Did the shove come from an angry blogger? Thanks for the tagging. Had it not come from you and Jeff Jarvis I think I would have tried to hide out this meme. : )
[…] Five Things You Don’t Know About Me I got sucked into this chain blog via Scott Karp, and I’m following the heard. Boy, this meme sure indicates how much ego searching is going on! Here are five things you didn’t know about me: I grew up on a classic wooden sailboat from birth until I was ten years old, and I received my “Master License” license by the U.S. Coast Guard when I was 19 years old (letting me work as a professional charter captain for some time).I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease when I was 11.If I were to be reincarnated, I’d want to come back as a dolphin. My wife and I share the same birthday. The best day of my life was this past November 21, when my son Julian was born. LOCKHART STEELE — So, Nick Denton’s off to London for the holidays, leaving Valleywag in the hands of a mostly random coterie of bloggers for the next week. How best to introduce myself? Luckily, there’s an annoying new blogmeme floating around this week. So I’ll tag myself, then reveal Five Things Most People Wouldn’t Know About Me on the other side of this link. 1) I’m the managing editor at Gawker Media, where I oversee the bloggers across the network of sites,
[…] morning, I was tagged by both Jeff Jarvis and Scott Karp to participate in the meme-of-the-moment: a revelatory post sharing five things most people […]
