We’re All #1 On Technorati
I’ve thought for a while that Technorati serves no purpose beyond tracking inbound links and stroking egos. Today, Technorati unveiled the culmination of its ego-stroking strategy — we’re ALL #1 on Technorati:

Geez - and I thought I was special!

That’s like one of those photographers you can hire for events who take pictures of people and superimpose them on the cover of a magazine. Knowing Technorati, the bug will stay that way for weeks. Only bloggers will notice — not real people.
I noticed that and thought HUH? I knew they were changing, upgrading whatever and had become PING-unreliable during all this but…this is odd. Thanks for writing about it.
Now can you unravel what it means?
Too late. I guess I’ll have to content myself with the usual wild and irrational swings between ranking 500 and 4000.

Mine has varied (rank wise) 5000! And the authority 100!
