That has more to do with capacity than anything innate in the system. That has enabled firms like Naver to take 77% of the local search market (vs 1.7% for Google) and spawned new industries such as a $4bn online game market (not bad for a population less than 50m). The high price here is based on scarcity and thats good for a few companies with a lock on the market and lousy for innovation and wealth creation.
